Titanic Discussion List
If you want to exchange information or just want to strike up a
conversation about RMS Titanic or any other historical ship, the
titanic-discuss list may be for you. Many of the people on the list are
researchers (both professional and amateur) and have a wealth of
information to share. The list is available in two formats: regular
email or digest. In regular mode all emails sent to the list are
distributed to everyone while digest mode collects all the messages
within one cycle (about 24 hours) and then distributes to digest
subscribers.
Only list members can post to the list and non-list members messages
will be rejected. If you have more than one email address you can
designate a second one as an alternative. Also be forewarned that using
an email address from your workplace may not be allowed by your
employer, who can demand that the list owner remove a workplace email
address. So it is suggested you use private email address to avoid
complications.
The rules of the list are simple: no foul language or obscene words
(this is a family list where children participate from time to time).
Please keep the list topic focused on Titanic or other historical
ships. And when replying to messages be sure to trim so that whole
messages are not reposted back to the list. The subscriber list is
private and only the list hosting company (Listbox and it has a strong
privacy policy) and the list owner have access to the subscriber info.
The email addresses of members will never be sold to third parties for
marketing purposes.
List message traffic can vary but can be as few as a few messages a day or a lot if there is a serious discussion going on.
To subscribe send the following request:
subscribe-titanic-discuss@listbox.com
You will get back an email message requesting to confirm the action and
then the request will be passed on to the list owner. If you hear
nothing back within 24 hours, you can send an email to
editor@titanicnewschannel.com.
